1. As a Record-Breaking Event
The longest underwater kiss lasted two minutes and 18 seconds. The record was set in Tokyo on April 2, 1980. Any type of physical contact in public, including kissing is generally frowned upon in Japan but doing it underwater is apparently OK even in the eyes of strict Japanese morals
