Santa Claus----Coca-Cola?!?!?!

Feel surprised when my lecture told us that Santa Claus was invented by the Coca-cola Company. For most of us, we know Santa Claus is not real but why i didn't found out the relation between both of them. Jolly, with a red suit and a white beard old man + red packaging Coca-cola. When think back, it really does connected.

"Before the 1931 introduction of the Coca-cola Santa Claus created by artist Haddon Sundblum, the image of Santa ranged from big to small and fat to tall. Santa even appeared as an elf and looked a bit spooky.
Through the centuries, Santa Claus has been depicted as everything as a tall gaunt man to an elf. He has worn a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. The modern-day Santa Claus is a combination of a number of the stories from a variety of countries.
From 1931 to 1964, Coca-cola advertising showed Santa delivering with toys, pausing to read a letter and enjoy a Coke, playing with children who stayed up to greet him and raiding the refrigerators at a number of homes. The original oil paintings Sundblom created were adapted for Coca-cola advertising in magazines, store displays, billboards, posters, calenders and even plush dolls. Many of those items are popular collectibles.

Twilight

Although i am not a huge fans of love movies or novels but recently i found out this movie is quite breath-taking. It is listed as my movie to watch this year and if possible, the novel too. Will i have the time to do so? Assignments and test are hunting me to death and i am desperate for more time available for me especially in this end of year. It is the time where everyone suppose to be preparing to enjoy the holiday but it seems this year is going to be different for me.

TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance. To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires - James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) - come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life?

Perform with MOD and SJBAYS

Last saturday, i get a chance to perform with MOD( Messengers of Dharma ) and SJBAYS (Subang Jaya Buddhist Association Youth Section) during the SJBA 20th anniversary in SJK(c) Chee Wen.

It is yet another great experience where it was my first time singing with them and it happens to be a great and wonderful night. It was truly memorable where i sang as a tenor(the highest ordinary male singing voice).

The songs we sang were 'Its Raining', 'The Story Of Dona' and after encore, 'The Dharma Shines in Me'.

Callum & Catlin

CATLIN

CALLUM

Both of them are twins. They have given me laughter and joy whenever i am down or sad. It's good to have them in my house and i can't imagine the day where they will left us.

Callum-- Always will be the center of attention because of his cuteness and naughty personality. He makes great noise compare to his younger twin sis, Catlin. He will always have good appetite and have great speed on eating, he might have 'copy' my personality...hehe! (Catlum, next time when you grow up don't eat too much, u might be like me!)

CATLIN--Arrived to my home later than Callum. Use to be very quiet but now she has become as noisy as his brother. Can u imagine what impact will be done to my house when two of them start to 'roars'? Catlin have beautiful smiles, i am confident that she will be a beautiful woman one day. For those who wanna date her next time, please queue up first. haha!

Do remember me when both of u grow up and be a good boy and girl!

Love,
Bro meng han

The Patience Principle

For the past 3 weeks of holiday, i have been reading the book 'Winning with People' by John C. Maxwell. I would like to share a short story he written in this book. I think it is quite meaningful.

A young woman's car stalled at a stoplight. She tried and tried to get it started, but had no luck whatsoever. The light turns green, and there she sat, angry and embarrassed, holding up traffic. The car behind her could have gone around, but instead the driver added to her frustration by laying on his horn.
After another desperate attempt to get the car started, she got out and walked back to the other car. The man rolled down his window in surprise.
"Tell you what," she said. " You go start my car, and I'll sit back here and honk the horn for you."

The next time we are feeling impatient with someone who is slowing you down, think about this story...

~My Tuner~

After a long wait, i finally purchase a tuner for my guitar. "Meng Han, if you don't have a tuner with your gred you are holding right now, it is pretty embarrassing." This is what my teacher told me before this.

Now, i finally have one! Not very stylish like ipod or whatever but worth it especially for people who are chasing the dreams to become a good guitarist! hohoho!

right choice

Two weeks have gone since i enter UTAR, everything is so different compared to last time in secondary. i am getting busier and busier since more assignments and presentations will come to me. i am so excited about it. Althought travelling everyday sometimes makes me tired but this will only last for a year, soon i will be shifting to Setapak for about one and a half years and then later in Kampar for two and a half years. I also found out that many people are taking the same course with me that is Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Chemical Engineering. The competition will be very high in my degree years later.

Keep FIGHTING!! Ganbate!

The text books we need to purchase are also damn expensive and heavy. It can be heavier then an Oxford dictionary. I already bought a few and some i will just photocopy it to save money since the prices of almost everything are incresing especially petrol. haiz.... 'government'........

Eventhough i already in UTAR but sometimes i will just wondering whether i made the right choice. I am so scared that it will turn my dream future into dust. The hottest education topic in the newspaper will be the PSD scolarship. i am eligible for the scolarship since i got 9As in spm last year but it is just for students who study in form 6, local universities or recognise university from government.

...........UTAR=right choice?????

Hope so..

boring..........

Its been a while i have not in blog sphere. Its not because i am busy, but actually i am too lazy. Life is really boring during this long holiday, i cant wait 4 another excitement.

After getting my result, i have been thinking so hard to choose my next path. FINALLY, i have choosen UTAR, and that is not the only choice i have. i am trying for ASEAN scholarship too. i dont put much hope on that scholarship since it is so hard to have it. So my first choice is definately UTAR. Hmm... hope i really works well there.

After working as promoter 4 permanis during the chinese new year promotion, i already stop working. Now i am a part time babysitter ( helping my mum) in my house. I use to think that babies are very noisy and will destroy my peaceful life in my home sweet home. But after about a few months helping my mom to take care, i start to realize that they are not that bad i use to think before this. they are really cute and sometimes make me laugh with their cute and chubby moves. They really created a more cheerful environment now in my house. Now only i realizes sometimes things are not that bad if we think it in a positive way, try to view something in a different angle, maybe it will make a change in our life too.

“Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."

During this holiday i have been watching many movies, but one i cant forget the most is ' 1 litre of tears '. This drama is so touching n i even cry(thank godness no one notice). haha! for ppl who havent watch it, plz watch it ASAP because you will regret if you dosent do so. It is based on a true story about a girl getting an incurable disease and the drama is really.....really...touching. sob....sob....Although she have this disease but she never give up hope and try to do her best to help other people. huh! fantastic!

After finish watching the whole drama, at night something happens. a guy living near my house try to commit suicide at the top of the building. this kind of incident i believe it is the first time happening in my area. after getting help from the fire fighters, the guy is safe now. I heared that he is having some family problems and he tries to end up his life like that! STUPID!

Compared to the drama i watch, it is totally different. i think u all will figure it out. I hope the message from the drama will help a lot more people in the future. “Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."
